Nico Carmandaye is a queer artist and director from Poland, based in London. He founded the art collective Zurnal Zine, championing the voices of Polish LGBTQ+ creatives, which has published 10 print issues and was exhibited at the Zacheta National Gallery of Art. 

He also works as a stylist and casting director, bringing together his experience across art, fashion and film to develop a distinctive, story-driven approach to each collaboration. His clients include Dazed, Double, Pop, Fantastic Man, Swarovski, Christian Louboutin, and many others. 

Nico’s filmmaking practice spans documentary, narrative and fashion. His experimental short, From Love, With Cyprus, premiered on Nowness in 2025, while his most recent film, Lustlings, is now on the festival circuit. It will be the only British short film selected for the official competition at Chéries-Chéris, Paris’s LGBTQ+ film festival.

In September 2026, Nico directed Encore, an SS27 campaign film for a v vattev, which premiered during London Fashion Week and is now available to watch on Nowness.
